The cost of travel adds up. Contribute your commuter cash!

Train tickets, your morning caffeine boost, Leap card top ups, petrol money and after-work snacks. Times are tough at the moment, really tough. We understand that you might be feeling a little helpless. By donating the cash you’d normally spend on your commute to a charity in need, you can support those who care for some of the most vulnerable members of our community.

‘To provide an appropriate and safe environment that will deliver the best practice of care and promote dignity in the end stages of life for palliative care patients and their families.’

Midlands Simon Community

Midlands Simon was established to support individuals, couples and families who are experiencing or who are at risk of homelessness throughout the Midlands Counties of Laois, Longford, Offaly and Westmeath.

While the main priority of our work is to assist all our Service Users to move out of homelessness, we also work very closely to help them overcome the many other difficulties faced by those experiencing homelessness such as loneliness, isolation, poverty and health and welfare issues. In short, it is our aim to help all our Service Users to rebuild their lives, and move out of homelessness into a permanent home.

Athlone & Midland Samaritans

We’re here, day or night, for anyone who’s struggling to cope, who needs someone to listen without judgement or pressure. Samaritans is not only for the moment of crisis, we’re taking action to prevent the crisis. We give people ways to cope and the skills to be there for others. And we encourage, promote and celebrate those moments of connection between people that can save lives.

Every life lost to suicide is a tragedy, and Samaritans’ vision is that fewer people die by suicide.

That’s why we work tirelessly to reach more people and make suicide prevention a priority.

There’s lots of ways to support our local businesses right now.
